Numpad Gaming

For PC gaming, I personally believe there's nothing as good as the Numpad... even for right-handers, like me. (I've used it alongside WASD for years.) It's very easy to mind-map, and, after a while, you never, ever look down at the keyboard, for anything. Also, the controls from game to game are MUCH easier to memorize, because you almost universally rebind them to an exact set, which you always use. (Rebinding sounds annoying, but it seriously takes like 40 seconds... and you'll be playing the game for 20-60 hours, so...)

This guide lays everything out, and shows some of the most common keybinds you can do. I made it in 2003, so, my preferences have changed, but it's still mostly relevant.
